Astra Walker was invited by BAR to develop a customised and distinctive bathware design solution for not only the hotel guestrooms and suites but also the restaurants, spa and wellness areas and event spaces. The specification process included close collaboration between Astra Walker and BAR Studio, including design conceptualisation, prototype development and engineering requirements. A PVD finish was selected to ensure longevity, performance and design synthesis.
Astra Walker’s shared values of design intelligence, enduring sustainable outcomes and the onshore manufacture and quality control of all fittings ensured the eight-year project’s smooth delivery in March 2023. The elevated expectations of the project and all rigorous requirements were met and exceeded, including delivery on budget while maintaining design intent, and a seamless experience with the added guarantee of replacement parts well into the future.
